Easy Everyday Contouring for a Natural Glow!

StyleBuzzUK - Jlo Contour

Does the thought of contouring confuse or scare the hell out of you ladies? Well fear not i'm here to show you that it is actually pretty easy (and not just for the younger generation either), with a little help from JLO!

Now i'm certainly not one for the all out crazy clown contour methods and heavy make up techniques that you see so often BUT a little bit of simple basic contouring can make such a difference particulary if you are aged 40 plus as it can really lift and add definition where it has been lost and create a youthful vibrant glow.

And it's not just about the face, a great way that contouring can be used as we age is to help our thinning or slightly receeding hairline appear fuller. As we get older our hairline tends to get thinner at the front and by adding some contour shading around your hairline it creates the illusion of fuller hair like magic!

There are basic contouring techniques that will work on absolutely everyone no matter what your faceshape and will really enhance your natural beauty. This video tutorial by good ol' Jenny from the block (courtesy of Vogue) is the perfect example of how basic contouring can be easy and effective but in the most natural way flattering way and as the famous Kevin Aucoin said, there's no need to be scared of make up just play around and you can always just wash it off.

I have been using her genius lip contour method since watching this video and it really does make your lips appear fuller! Just be careful not to over do it!

And here are a couple of my favourite contour products..

Sleek Cream Contour Palette £8.99 available at Boots

This is the perfect palette for beginners as it has a range of contour and highlight shades to play around with and the formula is super creamy and easy to blend, Plus the palette's come in different shade ranges for lighter to darker skin tones and it's budget friendly too. Just apply with to you face with your finger and then blend in with a brush, my favourite brush to use with this is the Elf buffing foundation brush as I find it's the perfect density to easily and smoothly blend.

Victoria Beckham Countour Sylus £35 available from Victoria Beckham Beauty

This is the perfect product for nose contour due to it's size and it comes in a range of shades to suit all. It's ultra slim which makes it perfect for scupting giving you a smooth and controled application.

I hope this helps, I would love to hear what you think either in the comments or by reaching out on social media :) Have you tried any of these techniques?
