Spring Trend Focus on Stripes & How to Wear Them

Stripes will always be a classic spring trend in the form of the ever fashionable nautical look but stripes made a big appearance on the catwalks for SS16 with designers like Stella McCartney,  Miu Miu and Missoni showcasing them in their designs which the highstreets have copied so stripes are majorly on trend this season.

The thing with stripes is that they can be quite a scary thought and we often wonder how to wear them without looking silly or adding extra pounds to yourself, well it can be done girls and here are some of my suggestions and highstreet picks at the moment.

Start off gradually with just a touch of stripes with this vest top £16 from ASOS, I think it's great paired with a smart blazer and tailored shorts like in the photos and would make a great look for the office with trousers and a blazer or with a girly skirt and cardigan for a softer feminine look.

Another way to start of gently with stripes is with this grey striped dress from New Look £27.99 as the due to the colour of the stripes, makes it less in your face. I also love the fact that this dress can either be worn really casually due to the style and material which is almost like a very thick linen, but it can also be really smartened up with heels and some jewellery.

This White Striped Tapered Jumpsuit from River Island £48 is very of the moment, Wear with a bold colourful necklace and a chunky belt to break up the stripes, I would also suggest a nice tailored jacket over the top.
